Outdoor Ted was established in 2017 to give local schools a safe environment to visit, to give the children a memorable and very special day out. Based at the Skylark Nature Reserve Barlow, Nr Selby, this hidden gem is closed to the public when schools are on site.
We started offering team building activities but our offer now extends to outdoor learning across the curriculum, Stone Age, Great Fire of London, Nature Art, Problem Solving, Maths, Science, but not forgetting the favourites of both staff and pupils campfire cooking and shelter building.
We work with teachers to plan the perfect day to give both staff and pupils a day to remember.
What's New for September 2022
We can't wait to welcome you back for the 2022/2023 academic year.
We have been working on new topics to deliver at the Skylark.
For KS1 we have story time. Enjoy The Green Man activities or our very own Outdoor Ted & Friends Story trail.
For KS2 we have added a Great Fire of London resource where pupils will build a street and use fire skills to understand how the fire spread so quickly.
We are always looking to add new activities, you can always request a topic and we will design a day to suit you.
Our children's books
Our first children's book is out now! Meet Outdoor Ted as he meets new friends after finding he needs a new home, a book about helping each other, problem solving (which link to activities we offer) and making friends. A happy adventure that's easy to act out in your own gardens or local woods.
BREAKING NEWS BOOK 2 IS ON ITS WAY!
